Much research and work has been carried out on micro factors for suicide but the macro factors are often left out or not look at day-to-day in healthcare in the UK.

Scopus, WebofKnowledge, PubMed

Searching with terms:  ‘suicide rate’ or ‘suicide risk’ (both must be used, just not together).

This results in around 30,500 articles, however with duplicates removed, there should be around 12,000 to be review further.

Preferred structure and format :

Review should detail how it was carried out, following the PRISMA model with a brief description of that. Should then show the classic PRISMA flowchart, with specific article numbers at each stage resulting in the key articles chosen at the end.

The articles chosen (no more than 20) should then follow the PRISMA model further detailing why it was chosen, etc.

It’s important that every article is accounted for. Therefore, a table should be created showing title, author, year for each article and reasoning as to why it was excluded. Perhaps a key should be added (i.e. 1 – didn’t meet inclusion criteria in title, 2 – didn’t meet inclusion criteria in abstract…etc). This is to ensure everything is clear and accounting for
